Our Approach to Dementia Care
The innovative design of Enstone House encourages people to maintain their level of autonomy for as long as they are able. Additionally, it enables our team of care professionals to assist residents in navigating the various aspects of their day. The design is essential to the provision of a habitable place in which residents may flourish.
The Oxford-based Enstone House dementia care home provides both daycare and residential dementia care to patients. All of our patients have access to respite care and permanent, round-the-clock care from our medical experts. Our love and care for those with dementia are not expressed by intrusive technology “doing to,” but rather, we choose to focus on “being with” them. This method encourages our residents to make the most of their remaining physical, emotional, relational, and creative capacities while fostering relationships with others rooted in love, compassion, and integrity.
By being there to cue them to their next achievement, our residents enjoy a series of accomplishments throughout the day and feel the warm gratification that everyone experiences when they succeed.
Our members of the team include nurses, personal support staff, developmental care workers, chefs/food service associates, recreational associates, and maintenance and administrative personnel. All of our staff have received specific training in supporting clients who come to us with severe memory loss.
